Martha Groves
I graduated from East Robertson High School in northern Robertson County. I graduated with a BA from Belmont College and a Master of Education in Counseling from MTSU. I have taught school for 37 years in Cheatham County. I taught 7th and 8th grade classes at East Cheatham Elementary School for six years. I have been a school counselor for the remainder of the time. I usually change grade levels each year. I personally like the variety in the type of work that school counselors have to do. Since I do have several years of experience, I have seen progress in opportunities and technology in this system. It still provides opportunities for teachers to continue their educational growth. At the present time I live in Orlinda, my hometown. I have built a house on the family farm. My hobbies have changed over the years. At the present time I enjoy my yard and garden, visiting with family and friends and being a member of the Orlinda Baptist Church.
