Dual Enrollment is the enrollment of a high school student in one or more specified college course(s) for which the student will be awarded both high school and college credit. Courses will not be expected to count toward the student’s high school diploma unless the student has made prior arrangement with the high school, umbrella school and/or local board of education.
THE STUDENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING VERIFICATION OF TRANSFER CREDIT FROM THEIR CHOSEN UNIVERSITY.
Dual Enrollment Requirements:

• Junior or Senior in high school
• 3.0 GPA
• 19 ACT Subscore in Subject area
• Permission from high school principal and parent/guardian
• Meet all prerequisites of course

Failure to READ, COMPLETE, & RETURN the enclosed information will RESULT in REMOVAL from the program.

1. Complete the Admissions Application. Please mail your $5.00 application fee to Nashville State Community College, 120 White Bridge Road, Nashville, TN 37209. Attn. Dual Enrollment. (Please include the applicant’s name and social security number with the payment.)
2. Mail your child’s high school academic transcript to Dual Enrollment Office.
3. Complete Parent/Principal Consent on College/High School Dual Enrollment form attached with necessary signatures.
4. ACT Residual Test may be taken at NSCC. (NSCC scores are only good for Dual Enrollment purposes. Please call 353-3269 to sign up for the ACT Residual.)
5. Students will be dropped from the class if fees are not paid by the assigned date and will be responsible for all or part of tuition as assessed through the registration process.
6. If for any reason a student must withdraw from a Dual Enrollment course, Nashville State must be notified by the last date of withdrawal printed each semester in the attached academic calendar. If the student does not properly withdraw from the class, the student will be issued a “WF” on their transcript.
