The University of Tennessee is accepting applications for the 2008 Veterinary Summer Experience Program.  If you are 16 and have completed the 10th grade by this coming June 9th, and if you have a minimum 3.0 GPA, you are eligible.  The progam runs June 9 – August 1.  If you are interested in becoming a veterinarian, please see guidance for an application.  Deadline is March 31st.

The 2008 Girls Going Places Entrepreneurship Award Program application for girls 12-18 is now available.  This is a $1,000 - $10,000 award to help young teen girls pursue their entrepreneurial pursuits and save for college.  See Ms. Burkhart

 

Princeton University is sponsoring a Princeton Prize in Race Relations.  There is a $1,000 cash reward for doing outstanding work in your school or community to advance race relations.  If you are interested in applying, please come to guidance.

 

Attention Seniors:

 

The Sertoma Club Freedom Essay contest is due today.  Please bring your essays to guidance.

 

The Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship application information is available in guidance.  This is a minimum of $2,500 for students pursuing a career in business or have demonstrated leadership.

 

The Gary Lee Reese Jr Freedom Award applications are available in guidance.  This is a $3,000 scholarship, requires a 500 word essay on what freedom and courage means to you, and preference will be given to students who have completed Spanish 1 & 2.

 

If you are a male and interested in attending Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, please see Ms. Burkhart for “The Appointed Man Scholarship” information.  Two scholarships for $500 each will be awarded, 1 based on academic performance and the other for athletic/personality excellence.
